Are you looking for chemical-free nail polish to wear during pregnancy? Or, maybe a natural nail lacquer so you can reduce your exposure to synthetic chemicals? Snails, a new toxin-free nail polish, was unveiled at London’s Professional Beauty Trade Show this month. Created by Safe & Beautiful Ltd., the new nail polish is geared at both health-conscious women and children who love to play dress-up.

Why Go Chemical-free?

Why Go Chemical-free

Jeanette Sklivanou created Snails to reduce women’s exposure to harsh chemicals found in some cosmetics. The natural nail polish is free of preservatives, solvents, formaldehyde, and toluene, according to a press release on Your Story. The polish is made of water, acrylic polymer, and nontoxic colorants that won’t damage delicate nails. This sounds like the perfect polish to add to my wish list!

As a bonus, the nail polish doesn’t require a chemical-based remover when a women wants to change colors. Simply wash fingernails and toenails with soap and water. But, what about women who wash their hands often? Snails might be best for painting toenails since they don’t get wet throughout the day, check here.

About the Natural Nail Polish

About the Natural Nail Polish

The Snails line of toxin-free nail polish is quite small: three varieties for adults. Meditation is a springy green-blue shade, while Relaxation takes on a muted yellow hue. Yoga nirda is a clear polish. Hopefully the company will release a series of new colors for adults this summer.

Of course, women can also use the 12 colorful polishes marketed for children. This collection includes several feminine shades of pink, purple, violet, green, yellow, and orange. The polish takes three minutes to dry and has a high gloss. One drawback to the collection: There are no fall colors or darker tones available. All polishes are sold in lead-free Italian glass bottles and retail around $9.00.
