These Walt Disney World (WDW) vacation packages, open to members of the general public, offer guests extra incentive to stay at a WDW resort hotel. The free Disney gift cards may be used, with some restrictions, on dining, shopping, and recreation opportunities, which helps guests save money. Guests may start booking these Disney travel deals starting Dec. 21, 2019 and continuing through March 27, 2020 for select travel dates through June 3, 2020.
Disney World Vacation Packages – Eligibility and Restrictions
To be eligible for the promotion, guests must book in advance a non-discounted Walt Disney World Travel Company package. All travel packages must include, at a minimum, five nights at a select Disney resort hotel and admission tickets. Standard packages include Magic Your Way admission tickets, which admit guests to one park per day and must be used within 14 days of first use.
For an additional fee, guests may choose to upgrade their tickets to include options such as park hoppers, water parks, or no expiration dates. Guests may also choose to add the Quick, Plus, or Deluxe Disney Dining Plan to their package.
As with other Disney special travel offers, a limited number of rooms are available for the promotion and eligible arrival dates vary with the type of WDW resort:
- Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort: Jan. 3 – Jan. 11, Jan. 19 – March 27, and April 11 – June 3, 2020
- Moderate Resort: Jan. 3, Jan. 10 – Jan. 12, Jan. 18 – March 27, and April 11 – June 3, 2020
- Value Resort: Jan. 3, Jan. 10 – Jan. 12, Jan. 18 – Feb. 9, Feb. 15 – March 27, and April 11 – June 3, 2020
There are other restrictions. Excluded from the promotion are campground sites and suites as well as split stays, in which guests transfer to another resort. Guests cannot add the Premium or Platinum Disney Dining Plan to their package.
Disney Gift Cards – Amounts and Use
The free Disney gift cards are distributed per room rather than per person. Similar to the restrictions on dates of stay, the actual value of the Disney gift card varies by resort type. Guests who stay at a deluxe or deluxe villa resort are eligible for a $750 gift card, moderate resort guests receive a $500 gift card, and value resort guests receive $300.
Gift cards may be used at WDW – including the major theme parks, resorts, Downtown Disney and the water parks¬ for dining, souvenirs, shows, spa treatments, tours, and other recreation. In addition, Disney gift cards may also be used on the Disney Cruise Line or Adventures by Disney, at Disney Stores in the U.S., and online at Disneystore.com.
Disney gift cards may not be used toward the vacation package cost, to purchase Disney Dollars or Disney gift cards.
